Space, Theatre & Experience - Novel Forms of Evental Space is a co-operation project between three research units at the University of Tampere: the Centre for Practise as Research in Theatre, TAUCHI (Tampere Unit for Computer-Human Interaction) and Theatre and Drama Research.

The project commences in October 2009 and ends in December 2011.

The project develops interactive means, techniques and analysis models, which enable novel evental and participatory user experiences in architectonic, virtual, open and natural spaces. By applying the means and modality questions of intelligent information and interaction technology to evental techniques and theories of theatre work, the project creates new kinds of human-centered spatial forms and their design techniques. Its largely untapped research potential and strategy develop knowledge and technical plus creative know-how for production, modeling and control of evental characteristics of various spaces.

The project?s results increase the functionality and adaptability of spaces, which allows more versatile uses for them. The technical solutions produced by the project may be utilized in performance spaces reserved for culture and entertainment, as well as in all public spaces, vehicles, everyday environments, education spaces and simulation spaces.
