The Dark project: LIGHT NOISE is the third phase of a performance project which started 2004. General aim of all the Dark projects is to scrutinize conditions under which a performance takes place and what is its relationship to visibility. LIGHT NOISE is produced by the Performing Arts Association which collaborates with the Centre for Practise as Research in Theatre and the Kiasma Theatre.

Cross-disciplinary working team is gathered together by lighting designer Tomi Humalisto and director Vihtori Rämä. The group consists of various theater professionals: producer Isabel González, dramaturge Timo Heinonen, dancer-choreographer Virpi Juntti, actor Olli Kontulainen, dancer Hanna Korhonen, media designer Teemu Määttänen, dancer Maija Nurmio, visual artist Anna Nykyri, choreographer-dancer Elina Pirinen and actor Tuukka Vasama Working process covers three years. 2010 and 2011 working team gathers together several times for one week workshops in Tampere and Helsinki. The LIGHT NOISE workshops combine spatial, technological and theoretical approaches as well as the performer's action. Together these elements create a foundation, a mutual, shared stage, for the working team. Final rehearsal period launches in January 2012 and premiere will follow in February.

The Darkness project: LIGHT NOISE team presented the starting points of the project in a form of open rehearsal and discussion in October 2010. Demonstration took place twice during the /theatre.now festival organized by Kiasma Theatre Helsinki.
